Da new Angelina?

Dat double chin tho.
Vintage 1960's dress, years old Charlotte Russe jacket, and years old Aldo wedges.

If you've been around awhile, you may recall that I blogged about this dress last year. Since it cooled off a bit, I styled it a bit differently. I just can't let it pass by without being photographed again. It's a superstar that deserves some attention.
The only problem I have with it is that it fits like a glove. A skintight glove. I can't really eat much when I wear it, I learned that the hard way. So next time I wear it, it won't be for long. Also, the shorts that are attached to the bottom kept ripping at the seam all day. Good thing you couldn't see my butt or you'd just see a giant split in my pants. I felt like Chris Farley or something.
Maybe it's time to find a better home for it where it can truly be appreciated. The problem with that is, it's one of my vintage babies. And like any good mama, I have an attachment to them.
I do own a lot of clothing, it's true. While that might seem materialistic to some, I view my collection as an extension of who I am on the inside. I try to only buy things I truly love because otherwise what's the point? We have limited time on this earth, might as well love and value everything we have. Plus, hunting for vintage treasures is fun. I mean, I made a business out of it.

Thrifted Forever 21 neon sweater, Vintage leather skirt, Target tights, and Aldo Mignogna wedges.

So it snowed. So what's a girl to wear after the first dusting hits the ground? A neon sweater so you can find her in a blackout and a "practical" leather pencil skirt. OF COURSE.
I'm honestly not the biggest proponent of the neon trend, but when I came across this sweater I was hypnotized. So was my mother. We looked at each other and I knew I would be buying it. Maybe that's why neon made such a comeback - the bright color makes us moths to a flame.
I also realize that my penchant for leather is out of control. It's like the tackiness of the 80's was programmed into my DNA. Right now I have THREE leather skirts (I know right?), a leather jacket (a staple), countless pairs of shoes (don't forget bags!), and a pair of leather shorts (totally awesome). No pants yet, but hey, I wouldn't say no if they were the right style.

Who knew that not brushing my hair could make it look good? In these photos it's at a tangle level of 5. By the end of the day it was at tangle level 10 of 10, 100% mess. It took me 20 minutes to comb it out, so I think I'll stick to brushing on a regular basis (like my teeth).

How has your week been? Mine has been pretty blah. I think it's because of the weather. Maybe this will cheer you up (if you haven't seen it yet, or maybe haven't seen it in awhile). Always helps me.

Vintage Betsey Johnson silk dress, Rue 21 sunglasses, vintage purse, Candie's necklace, and Restricted Footwear wedges.

Where has the time gone? Where have I gone? It seems like I was just updating this telling you all that I was going to update more regularly. Since July has started, life has been a whirlwind. I'm super-afraid that summer will go by too quickly before I can even enjoy it. The weather hasn't been too great here and it's bumming everyone out.
Brian and I took a trip to the beach for a relaxing Sunday on a seemingly sunny day. We were worn out from being out late the night before. We just wanted some down time. Well, even though the weather looks nice in these photos, it wasn't. Sure the sun was out, but it was so humid. I could barely breathe and it made the temperature feel much hotter. We ended up ditching the beach to go eat some gross yet delicious food at IHOP.
I was so excited to give my new Betsey dress a spin. It's a little long on me, but I don't care. The silk feels so luxurious and it's perfect for summer.

I hope you all had a great holiday last week and are enjoying some summer weather!

Love Tree sweater dress (from Marshall's), thrifted leather bag, years old belt, and Forever 21 booties.

For the extremely strange weather we experienced the past two days (yesterday it was 65 degrees!), I thought a sweater dress was appropriate. I really love this one in particular. It's so bold so it doesn't need much more to be a complete outfit. I kept the rest of the styling simple with some trusty black tights and my new booties. They were obviously made to emulate the infamous Acne Atacoma wedges. Since you can't buy those anymore (also, they were $600 - not really in my budget), my 10 dollar version will suffice just fine. I used to be against wearing shoes from Forever 21, but ever since I got my floral Mary Janes I have changed my mind. Some of the shoes are surprisingly well made; some still look like crap. It's hit or miss, but these (and another pair I got for $7) are hits for sure.

Unfortunately, the warm weather has faded and we are back to frigid temperatures. Our two day freedom is over! It's back to snow...yuck.

CeCe L'amour wedges purchased through the amazing site Hello Holiday, vintage 60's dress, vintage leather bag, Charlotte Russe headband, and Lane Bryant sunglasses.

My super-sweet Brian got me these long-lusted over wedges for Christmas. They are designed by none other than one of my favorite bloggers, Celine of The Shoe Girl. Ever since she debuted these babies in her line I've pined for them. So when another one of my favorite bloggers (Sarah of Fash Flood) started Hello Holiday and carried these wedges, I knew I had to order from them.
Unfortunately, me trying to not spend money got in the way of supporting the new site. I put the shoes in the back of my mind and forgot about them. That was until I opened them on Christmas.
Brian is too sweet.

I was so excited when the temperatures this weekend reached 60 degrees. I finally had a chance to wear them. Piles of snow make it hard to wear satin shoes. Also, being sick for two weeks makes it hard to wear any nice clothes. I was wrestling with my closet and couldn't figure out what to wear. I decided a simple black dress was the best way to go; it's fool proof. Anyway, I love any excuse to wear this dress. It's a perfect dress for winter time.

I hope you're having a stellar start to your week. Can you believe it's halfway through January already?

PS: This is not a sponsored post. I just like supporting the things I love!

Vintage velvet jacket, gifted tee, thrifted Bongo jeans, thrifted vintage leather bag, and Aldo Mignogna wedges.

I'm slowly getting into the Christmas spirit. It's taking me a little longer this year, normally I'm Christmas's biggest fan. I honestly love this time of year. Family time, baked goods, and just making people happy is what makes me happy. Not to be a debbie-downer, but I think it's hard because it's the first year without my grandmother. She loved Christmas and tried to make it super special for the whole family.

Anyway, I decided to be obnoxiously festive with this outfit. I love this tee because I do believe in Santa. It was a gift from Brian's mom last year and I couldn't wait to wear! Unfortunately I only got to wear it once, so it'll be in overdrive this season.

I'm going to be doing a lot of decorating in the next few days. I hope you all have a great weekend!
