Thrifted dress, thrifted leather bag, Luella sunglasses, and Miu Miu SS2010 clogs.

Friday was probably the last time I'll see beautiful weather for awhile. Right now, I have cabin fever from being stuck inside. There's a hurricane happening and it's terrible. I hope everyone on the east coast stays safe!
I decided to live my last day of wardrobe freedom in this chambray dress I got for $2.50. It's super fun and comfortable to run around in. It's a modern twist on a 50's shirtwaist dress. I paired the dress with my amazing Miu Miu clogs! I still can't believe I own them. I love, love, LOVE wearing them and because they're satin I probably won't be wearing them for awhile.

I decided to be festive (or a clown depending on how you look at it) with some orange lipstick. Every time I looked in the mirror I was surprised. I guess I have to get used to it.

If you're on the east coast, please stay safe!

H&M dress, thrifted leather bag, eBay sunglasses, and BCBGMaxAzria sandals.

Yesterday it was a whopping 80 degrees out. I felt like it was the perfect time to give a flirty, girly dress it's last hurrah for the season. I picked this little polka dot number because it's one of my favorites. I could honestly wear it everyday and not get sick of it. That classic silhouette is something I just can't get enough of in my wardrobe; literally. I only have a few pieces like this and I need more. They're just more flattering on me because of my hourglass shape. A tiny waist and bigger hips just don't look in some things, like body-con. It's something I still struggle to wear.

Let me just say that I love these shoes. Every time I am stumped at what shoe to wear, I go for these babies. They're just awesome. Strappy, chunky, and super tall. All things I love in a great shoe.

I'm off to kick-start my weekend with some awesome 80's jams. As you already know, I love bad 80's music. I guess I missed my calling to be an awesome 80's pop star. I could have been one in the 90's if I lived in Canada like Robin Sparkles.  Oh well, in my next life maybe.

makeover

Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday, I was busy with a little home project (sorry for the bad iPhone shots in advance).

(My cat is not amused with this change.)

As you can see, I got a major upgrade. I went to go look at the bookshelf and the guy said I could take it for free. That was awesome.
Now I can look at my pretty shoes all the time. It also helps that I can see everything I have. Now nothing will get neglected! Yay.
Next step: a cool small dresser. I really need one. I'm making over my apartment one piece of furniture at a time. Hurrah to nice apartments!

Hope you're having a great week. I'm deliriously exhausted and have a ton of work to do. Hang in there.

Missoni for Target, H&M cotton tights, thrifted leather bag, and Target loafers.

I'm finally feeling like myself again after a busy few weeks. It's been awhile since I had the time to stop and think about putting an outfit together. Getting this Missoni for Target piece in the mail definitely helped reactivate my fashion brain. I'm so happy I found this dress/hoodie/cardigan/awesome. I couldn't believe how heavy it was when I picked it up for the first time. It'll be a great warm piece for when it gets really cold.

I paired my amazing sweater with some matching tights that I got a long time ago. They're actually child size. It was back before H&M carried women's tights in our area. They're warm and versatile. I'm actually happy that it's tight season; I have so many pairs that are dying to be worn.
Lastly, I threw on these loafers that I've been wearing non-stop lately. I'm smitten with them. I scored these babies for $6 in the clearance section over the summer and put them away for fall. They're a perfect standout shoe for when my feet say "no heels today please."

I hope you had a happy Monday! I'm excited for this warm stretch of weather we're supposedly going to have.

(My cat totally photobombed me.)

Just wanted to share with you a little preview of my amazing eBay score. I finally got this Missoni for Target piece I'd been lusting over for a year. It very rarely pops up on eBay, I can't believe it's mine! It's such an awesome piece. It's much heavier than it looks and is very warm. I'm excited to wear it as a cardigan and a sweater dress. Yay for styling potential.

Have a great weekend!

H&M shift dress, thrifted leather bag, Jessica Simpson sunglasses, and Aldo Mignogna wedges.

Yesterday I decided to dress in a very 60's inspired outfit. I had been waiting the entire summer to wear this dress! It's finally weather-appropriate. I bought it way back in July for 7 bucks and was super-pumped. Too bad it was 90 degrees out.

I was also waiting for the perfect outfit to wear these sunglasses with for the first time. I got them a few weeks ago while visiting my best friend, Nikki. I instantly loved them but they were a little more than I usually pay for sunglasses. Nikki convinced me to get them. We both had a hard time picking what and what not to buy. I'm so bad at making decisions!

I finished off my look with a little Twiggy-inspired makeup. I didn't go all out but in the photo I did my best to impersonate her doe eyes.

I know I've said this before but....my life is finally on track again. My updates will finally be back to normal! Yay!

Target sweater and socks, Express boyfriend jeans, thrifted leather bag, eBay sunglasses, and BCBGMaxAzria sandals.

I have been obsessed with this sweater ever since I saw it at Target way back in August. Yesterday, I finally bought it. After patiently waiting, it was marked down to clearance! Yay! I decided to be a kooky lady and pair the sweater with some crazy socks. I picked up this pair yesterday, also for $3 - they're so cute! This fall I noticed I have been trying out colors I never would've a year ago. I'm starting to love this rich burgundy color and a lot of pieces I've been buying lately have been mustard. I love the winds of change. Constantly evolving as a person is one of the best parts of life. I love trying new things style-wise (and life-wise) and adding them to my current rotation. I was talking to my hair stylist yesterday, and we were talking about our style. I couldn't pin my style down. I love so many different things when it comes to fashion and I wear what I love. If I love something, I get it. I think a lot of people see something they love and say "I can't pull that off." Why not try if it's something you really like? What I like is crazy sweaters and crazy socks. It made the perfect outfit for the chilly day we had today.

I hope your week went stellar. I'm excited because I start my part-time job tomorrow!

Missoni for Target cardigan, H&M jeans, Target tee, vintage necklace, thrifted leather bag, and Betsey Johnson platforms.

Snapped these photos quick before heading to a birthday dinner for my dad. I was upset that my necklace was turned around for most of the photos! That darn thing never wants to stay straight.
I've been leaning more on the causal side of dressing lately. Mostly due to the fact I feel like I'm always on the go. Things should finally be slowing down after this week, it will be a nice change.

I finally found a nice pair of jeans that I LOVE (two actually). Being short and having hips makes finding jeans that fit very hard. Low-rise jeans tend to look awful on me because they accentuate my hips. I love not having a straight up and down body, but it makes it hard to find great denim! I found these wonderful regular waist skinnies at H&M, the last place I thought to look. They were only $20 full price. My wallet sang a song of relief. I try not to spend more than $30 on jeans, I feel it's unnecessary to shell out big bucks for jeans. That's just my opinion though.

Tuesday is almost over already and I can't believe it. I hope you had a great start to your week.
