Forever 21 romper, gifted sandals and sunglasses (don't know where they're from sorry!)

Here I am, about a month late sharing my Cancun photos. Business picked up when I got home, so I had a lot of adult life things to take care of.
I'm so excited to share this post because of this romper. A year ago I never would have worn it. I would have been deathly self-conscious and afraid. I have struggled a lot with showing skin and owning my body. There are a lot of reasons as to why, but I won't get into that.
What I will say is that I went into 2019 ready to challenge myself. Even in a small way like this.
It's a new year, it was time to leave all that baggage behind.
I practically had to when I found this romper anyway. It screamed my name and was the only one left in the store which happened to be my size. On top of that, it ended up being 4 bucks.
4 bucks for the 70's-inspired romper of my dreams?
Yes, please.
This particular day we toured a Mayan ruin. That's what all the stonework is in the photos. I've been to it a few times now, but it never ceases to amaze me. The fact that it's been there for a thousand years really puts life into perspective for me.

Mexico was really good for me. I was fortunate enough to go. 10 years ago, I never thought I'd ever see Mexico - let alone get to stay at a gorgeous resort.
I recharged, refocused, took time to assess what's really important in life. Now that I'm back, I'm mentally in a much better place. Reaching for things and making things happen.
It's already paying off.
In life, you have to put in what you want to receive.
But I won't bore you.
I have a random collection of photos from my vacation that I'll share next. A photo diary of my trip if you will.
I'm still working on my vlog as well - just having some technical problems (as usual).

xx,
Morgan

Vintage 1950's shirt, 1960's skirt and boots, Luella sunglasses(that are practically vintage I've had them since high school.)

Happy Halloween!
It's my favorite holiday. The past few years I've kept it pretty tame, but the spoopy still lives in my heart.
I decided to wear this orange gem today. Novelty prints from the 1950's are something I've always had a weakness for. It's the tacky that lives within me. Have I mentioned I'm tacky?
This particular print caught my eye because it's kind of strange. It's a foxes chasing after rabbits. You would assume by the colors it'd be witches flying on brooms.
Nope. Just foxes chasing after a kill?
Wholesome.
Another neato feature of this blouse is that it requires cuff-links. An artifact of the past that women rarely ever wear. Men rarely wear them anymore either, but occasionally still do.
I have a strong masculine side and for some reason this just makes me happy.
I'm part of the boys club now.

I spent my Halloween strolling through a graveyard as you can see. It's actually very relaxing. I enjoy doing this from time to time. It's very quiet and nature revives me.
I hope you had a wonderful Halloween.
Whether you dressed up or just took it easy at home.
Stay spoopy.

january stagnation

We find ourselves in January. The month where everything slows down, freezes over, and stagnates. Especially my style. When it's 15 degrees out, the motivation to put together an outfit just dissipates. So I apologize for the lack of posts. My outfits have just been black jeans and a sweater. Every single day. Sometime I'll throw a beanie on just to spice things up. Nothing worth posting. Maybe it is, but it's just too hard to take the photos.

I'm leaving for Cancun on Sunday, so hopefully I'll take some photos to share while I'm there.  This time I'm trying to take some cute vintage sundresses, so hopefully that will bring future posts!

In the meantime, here's a video of some new clothes I just bought at Forever 21:

five years of blogging

Today marks the five year anniversary of my blog. I honestly can't believe it's been that long. I wanted to reflect back on how much my style has changed. Thank you to anyone who has ever taken the time to stop by my blog, it's been a pretty great documentation of this crazy thing called life.
Here are some of my favorites from over the years (WARNING: This post is picture heavy):

I'm so happy that I started blogging. Over the years it has really forced me outside of my style comfort zone. I tried things I never would have and really refined my style. I love change and I love that style can constantly evolve. I'm happy I've been able to do this for five years and hope to do it for five more. Here's to 2015 and all the changes it may bring.
Happy New Year!
