Vintage 1910's blouse, vintage 1950's skirt & crinoline, Forever 21 pumps, Ann Taylor sunglasses, and Prada purse from a consignment shop.

These photos were taken on the last day that I was 25. The day before my birthday: August 27th. Yes, I've had these pictures since August 27th. Where has the time gone?

This skirt, this skirt, this skirt. That's all the words I can form when I talk about it. I have a pretty unreasonably large collection of 1950's circle skirts, but this one takes the cake.
When it came into my possession it was way too big for me and was missing a button. I instantly tailored it to fit and found a new button for it. For those who know me, it shows how much I love it. I have a pile of sewing products and pieces that need to be fixed. They normally sit on the back burner until I randomly get to them. So, the fact that I fixed it right away shows my devotion to it.
Maybe it's the gathering at the waist, the stiff voluminous cotton, or the beautiful pattern. Maybe it's all of these things(most likely).
Also, this blouse. I can't believe it's 100 years old. It's in near-perfect condition. How? I've come across things from the 1950's that have fallen apart. I feel incredibly lucky to have it.

My favorite time of the year is here! Halloween! Have any ideas for a costume? I have a few and I'm so excited!

Thrifted I Heart Ronson blouse, and thrifted 90's shorts.

It was about time that I did something about my crazy medieval-length hair. It was getting so scraggly and unmanageable. It also has been almost a whole year since I had my ombre redone. I was putting it off because I don't have a lot of spending money after opening my store. I ended up doing it at home which was surprisingly super-easy. I made a video about it which should be up soon.
I know ombre is oh-so-trendy right now, but it's my permanent hair style. I just love the life it gives to my one-toned hair. This time I'm actually going to add some crazy streaks to it. I have the blue and purple all ready to go in tomorrow!
YOLO right?

I hope you laughed at the little clip I shared. I spend way too much time on YouTube. Hope you're having a great week and are fast asleep. It's almost 1am! Goodnight!

Buffalo Fashion Week

(One of my favorite looks of the night.)

I'm wearing: Forever 21 skirt, thrifted H&M blouse, vintage bag, and Sam Edelman Zoe boots.

I was very lucky to be asked to attend Buffalo Fashion week on behalf of Solis Magazine. I'm from Rochester, so it wasn't a far drive. It was so glitzy and fabulous, I loved every minute of it. Buffalo pulled out all the stops - I was very impressed.

I dressed simple, with a touch of crazy. I was just press so I didn't want to go all glam. I toyed with so many different outfits until I spontaneously threw this on. It was my first time wearing this ridiculously cool Beetlejuice skirt. I had picked it up at a sale awhile back, but the heavy knit was too much for the hot weather. Definitely can't wait to wear it more often and maybe have passerbys scream "BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE!" at me.  I think I've talked about this before, way back here.

There were so many amazing looks displayed at the runway show. The mustard suit pictured above by Dowry Designs was one of my personal favorites. I don't want to ruin any of the amazing things I saw at the event. You can pre-order the magazine that will feature my article on Buffalo Fashion Week here.

I'm off to have a lovely meal with Brian. I hope your week is going splendidly.

Thrifted silk Ralph Lauren blouse, vintage shorts (they're my moms), thrifted Nine West sandals, and Kathy Van Zeeland bag.

I can honestly say, this blouse has to be one of the best finds in the history of my thrifting. I found this nearly new blouse on the clearance rack at Goodwill. It ended up being 3 bucks. That was actually over a year ago, I've just never shared it on the blog.
I paired this dreamy silk shirt with my mom's shorts from the 70's. I seriously can't stop wearing them. Ever since she gave them to me over Memorial Day weekend, I've worn them a half dozen times. I even wore them today! The basket weave pockets are so unique.
Overall, a very comfortable outfit.

Well, It's 3:30 am while I'm typing this. I stayed up late doing work for my shop. I must sleep now. Hope you're having a great week!

Thrifted silk blouse, thrifted Bongo jeans, vintage Ray-Bans, Chanel flats, and Kathy Van Zeeland bag.

Here I am, up way too late and watching my favorite Batman cartoons because I forgot to blog. So silly of me, I had these photos ready and everything,
Anyway, I've found my outfits to be sans-heels lately. Don't get me wrong, I love dressing up. I find myself to be overdressed wherever I go. I really can't deny my other love for simple, casual outfits perfect for ballet flats. I find it hard not to wear them with beautiful Chanel and Ferragamo waiting in my closet.

This was just my casual running errands outfit. The silk is so luxurious, but not too ridiculous for causal wear. Sorry if my outfits have taken a turn for the boring; I am just loving experimenting with dressed down outfits.

Well, I have to go: Bruce Wayne is having an epic battle with his subconscious. He's stuck in a dream land the Mad Hatter put him in. SPOILER ALERT (well, only if you've never seen the cartoon)!

Thrifted silk blouse, Charlotte Russe herringbone shorts, thrifted bag, vintage 70's sunglasses, and Restricted Footwear wedges.

I'm wearing my silk blouse that's affectionately named "my Beetlejuice shirt." The movie is awesome, but as a kid I preferred the cartoon. I thought it was hilarious. He also may be the reason for my obsession with black and white vertical stripes.

This was also the first time I wore my kooky lady 70's sunglasses in public. I don't care if they look like novelty sunglasses I bought when I was 16 to scare people from the car - they're awesome...well to me anyway. I'm on a lonely boat all by myself sometimes; I like weird stuff.

Anyway, have a wondrous weekend! Don't forget to tell your mom you love her! Mine is the best, she takes a lot of these photos for me. She also will listen to me talk endlessly about unimportant things. What's better than that?

thrifted blouse, Charlotte Russe jeans, thrifted vintage bag, vintage necklace, Rue 21 bracelet, and Betsey Johnson platforms.

Like I said in my previous post, throwing on a button up blouse is the easiest way to lose the blues. Well, pairing one with my favorite jeans makes my dilemmas vanish instantly. By dilemmas, I mean the age old question of "what a heck do I wear today? I have nothing."
Speaking of my favorite jeans, they have taken a long hiatus from this blog. For some reason, I put them on the very bottom of my huge pile of pants. I thought they were too small for me now, which is delusional of me, but hey a girl has her moments. Last week I pulled them out from the bottom, and started our happy relationship once again.

I pulled this particular blouse out of a rack of a thousand while thrifting a few weeks ago. As soon as I looked it over, I realized I had no linen button ups and this one would be perfect. It ended up being $2, quite the steal even though it has no label. That's something I never really cared about. Except, when it comes to my shoes!
