Forever 21 romper, gifted sandals and sunglasses (don't know where they're from sorry!)

Here I am, about a month late sharing my Cancun photos. Business picked up when I got home, so I had a lot of adult life things to take care of.
I'm so excited to share this post because of this romper. A year ago I never would have worn it. I would have been deathly self-conscious and afraid. I have struggled a lot with showing skin and owning my body. There are a lot of reasons as to why, but I won't get into that.
What I will say is that I went into 2019 ready to challenge myself. Even in a small way like this.
It's a new year, it was time to leave all that baggage behind.
I practically had to when I found this romper anyway. It screamed my name and was the only one left in the store which happened to be my size. On top of that, it ended up being 4 bucks.
4 bucks for the 70's-inspired romper of my dreams?
Yes, please.
This particular day we toured a Mayan ruin. That's what all the stonework is in the photos. I've been to it a few times now, but it never ceases to amaze me. The fact that it's been there for a thousand years really puts life into perspective for me.

Mexico was really good for me. I was fortunate enough to go. 10 years ago, I never thought I'd ever see Mexico - let alone get to stay at a gorgeous resort.
I recharged, refocused, took time to assess what's really important in life. Now that I'm back, I'm mentally in a much better place. Reaching for things and making things happen.
It's already paying off.
In life, you have to put in what you want to receive.
But I won't bore you.
I have a random collection of photos from my vacation that I'll share next. A photo diary of my trip if you will.
I'm still working on my vlog as well - just having some technical problems (as usual).

xx,
Morgan

popsicle love and pie crust promises

Well, I haven't blogged in a minute. More than a minute - it's been since May to be exact. I don't really have a reason either. Call it the summer lazies, being busy with work, or just being unmotivated. But I really feel like a fool.
So just for me, I'm going to try to blog more.

Anyway, my summer has been all about the two-piece outfit.  I have a handful, all from different decades. I just love them. I wore a different one today, in fact.
There's something about it that makes you look so put together, when in reality it's effortless.
This one reminds me of candy, or popsicles, or just summertime in general. You'd think that with its pastel colors, it'd be a great warm weather staple. It's not. It's actually made from a very thick linen and is incredibly warm. I had to wait for a cooler day to take it for a spin.
At least it will be a piece of everlasting summer during some cool fall days.

I hope you're having the summer of your life. I'm just enjoying the easiness of it all.
Summertime and the livin' is easy.

where palm trees sway

Hello I'm Morgan. I'm not dead. After I got back from Mexico I was very sick for two weeks. I had planned to immediately share photos from my trip. That obviously didn't happen, so here are some now! Better late than never right?

Vintage 1980's sundress, thrifted hat, years old Marshall's sandals.

Let's just say Caribbean life agrees with me. The sunshine, the breeze, and being able to wear sundresses whenever I want! I got this dress back in December and was sad that I would have to wait months to wear it. Then the solution hit - take it with me! I loved wearing it so much that I wore it twice during the trip.
Life is so much easier when I can wake up to sunshine, throw on a dress, and be out the door. Such simplicity.

My time in Mexico really taught me that I honestly loathe any temperatures below 40 degrees. I'm just not suited for life here (is anyone suited for this winter?).

How is your winter going?

90's iridescent dress, thrifted Nine West sandals, and Jessica Simpson sunglasses.

Let me tell you, it was very hard to get a decent photo of what this dress actually looks like. The top layer is made out of an iridescent material that reflects a bright blue - like bright, bright blue. You can see it a little in the photo of the back.
I can only imagine what crazy 90's clubs this dress has been to.

Since the weather has been treating us well, I decided to wear as many summer-like things as I could: sun dresses, sandals, and light breezy jackets. I really wish our weather could stay like this forever. I'd be able to wear anything! I hate what the cold does to my style, I just feel like a frump.

Well, that's enough thought on our depressing, yet inevitable future. I hope you are having a great week. Here is a sweet mid-nineties club jam:

Vintage 1960's dress, and TJ Maxx gladiator sandals.

This dress. What is there to say about it that it doesn't say already? I bought it with the intention of putting it in the shop. That's when I tried it on and found out that it fit me perfectly. I instantly formed an attachment and found the thought of selling it to be too much. That's the problem with me - I form bonds with vintage clothes when I'm supposed to be selling them. I want to know their stories, what they've seen, what crazy parties they've attended. I can't imagine where this little number has been. The fact that it has shorts is just crazy.
Good thing clothes come in all shapes and sizes or the hoarder in me would have a hard time selling anything.
I do love seeing the clothes in my shop going to good homes though. That's why I do what I do - they have more stories they need to tell and that can only happen if they travel onward.
I know that may sound silly to you, but that's just how I see it.

I hope you had a wonderful start to your week. My life has wound down a little and I'm not so crazy busy at the moment. Kind of enjoying that.

Gifted Gap shirt, vintage 50's skirt, vintage leather purse, vintage 60's hair bow, and BCBG Max Azria sandals.

I really didn't mean for this outfit to come out so pink-centric, it just ended up that way. Some people find it hard to believe, but I used to be (and still am deep down) a tomboy. Until a few years ago, I was uncomfortable wearing pink because I was uncomfortable being girly. Also, because of the brash femininity clothing its shade seems to be. As I grew, so did my girly side and I can rock a pink outfit like this every once in awhile. I don't think you can get more feminine than a 1950's hot pink circle skirt.
I like having many layers to my personality - it's what makes me human.

Every time I post an outfit of me in heels, I feel like I'm always wearing these. I'M SORRY! I have at least 100 pairs of shoes, but I'm always in these sandals. It's because they go with freaking everything! They're also perfect in the summer, which is so short here that I have to wear them while I can.

I hope you had a great start to your week. I'm anxiously waiting for my order of the Nyx Macaron lipsticks to arrive! AHHH I CAN'T WAIT!
