in the high school halls, in the shopping malls, conform or be cast out

Charlotte Russe dress, eBay sunglasses, Kathy Van Zeeland bag, and vintage Chanel flats.

I can't believe it's been a week since I posted on here last! I've been dying to blog, but I was busy because MY NEW SHOP IS OPEN! I'm so excited about it and I love dressing up for work.
I wore this little leopard dress on my second full day at the shop. I'm obsessed with the neon piping and unique neckline.
When I used to work at Charlotte Russe I bought a lot of clothes there. When I left, I stopped shopping there because they raised their prices significantly. During my annual after-Christmas shopping binge I poked my head in again. I found this snazzy dress for $10 and a few other great things. I was happy to see their prices back down for some great clearance bargains (I'm cheap like that).

I certainly enjoyed the beautiful stretch of weather we just had. I got to wear a bunch of my dresses, climbed a flowering tree, and just was my all-around weird self. Hope you're having a wonderful week!

Thrifted Gap Kids dress, Forever 21 shirt, Target tights, Kathy Van Zeeland bag, Lane Bryant sunglasses and vintage Chanel flats.

I found this kids dress in the women's section at Salvation Army and was a little disappointed. I thought it might fit and it does (if I don't mind my chest being crushed for the duration). That's a small sacrifice for the price: it was $2.50. I love velvet - there's something about it that feels very old world to me. When I wear it, I feel close to people of the 1800's (maybe that's a little crazy, but that's just me). It can be very impractical, but I'm determined to make it work (as Tim Gunn would say).

I hope you're having a great week!

Thrifted leather shorts, old crop top from my ballet years, thrifted lip scarf, thrifted leather bag, Icing sunglasses, and vintage Chanel flats.

For some reason, when I put this outfit on I thought I looked like a greaser girl. I felt like I should be waiting for my boyfriend to pull up in his hot ride. We'd ditch school and hang out in the alleyway off Main Street.
I guess it's a tad like Olivia Newton John's outfit at the end of Grease. Except my version of skin-tight satin pants are super cropped leather shorts.
In all honesty, I love these shorts. I have to wear flats with them most of the time because, if I wore heels I'd feel like a tramp. I wore my Chanel's for the first time in awhile with my shorts. I was happy to have them back in rotation. They're so classic.

When I returned home from work Brian asked me, "Are you going to change into normal people clothes?" He was referring to a family party we are going to tonight. My reply was that I never wear "normal people clothes." He just shrugged; he's used to it.

I hope you all have a stellar weekend! Mine's going to be busy. Happy summer!

Thrifted silk blouse, thrifted Bongo jeans, vintage Ray-Bans, Chanel flats, and Kathy Van Zeeland bag.

Here I am, up way too late and watching my favorite Batman cartoons because I forgot to blog. So silly of me, I had these photos ready and everything,
Anyway, I've found my outfits to be sans-heels lately. Don't get me wrong, I love dressing up. I find myself to be overdressed wherever I go. I really can't deny my other love for simple, casual outfits perfect for ballet flats. I find it hard not to wear them with beautiful Chanel and Ferragamo waiting in my closet.

This was just my casual running errands outfit. The silk is so luxurious, but not too ridiculous for causal wear. Sorry if my outfits have taken a turn for the boring; I am just loving experimenting with dressed down outfits.

Well, I have to go: Bruce Wayne is having an epic battle with his subconscious. He's stuck in a dream land the Mad Hatter put him in. SPOILER ALERT (well, only if you've never seen the cartoon)!

Thrifted silk blouse, years old Max Rave skirt, random socks, vintage bag, sunglasses, and bracelet, and Chanel flats.

Whenever I'm depressed with my wardrobe and frustrated with everything I try on, I turn to button up blouses. They are the easiest thing to throw on when in a bind. The combinations are seemingly endless. I chose to wear my mustard silk blouse with one of my favorite skirts. I can't stop wearing it, even though we're six years into our relationship. I don't foresee us breaking up anytime soon. The pleats are just too divine.

My boyfriend and I were exploring the technology park near our apartment on Sunday. The normally hustling, bustling place was totally abandoned, so we snapped these photos. It was almost haunting to see the giant buildings and parking lots totally empty and silent. Everything was so still, except for the fighting geese and a lawnmower humming in the distance. It struck me so much, and it's really hard to explain why.
It sounds so silly when I type it out, but I am silly so that's nothing new.

Missoni for Target dress, thrifted blouse, Chanel flats, and Marc by Marc Jacobs bag.

When I got an offer by my hospitable parents to stay with them in New Jersey for the weekend, I gladly accepted. My boy and I were really happy because our hotel was located 30 minutes outside New York. We took the train into the city, which was fun. I got dressed in one of my favorite outfits clad with my new Marc Jacobs bag, and we hit the town!
It was a great trip. We ate two scrumptious meals, walked around Soho, went vintage shopping in the Village (can't wait to show you what I got!), watched street performers, and took pictures of the Empire State Building. We indulged in being utter tourists. Hey, it's okay, sometimes that's a necessity. I can't wait to go back, or move there. Which ever comes first, I'll gladly accept.
