Vintage Levi's, Forever 21 tee, Kohl's cardigan, Target socks, Aldo Mignogna wedges, and vintage necklace.

"To each their own" my mother would say. "My own" happens to be what a lot of people would call "mom jeans." My penchant for 80's Levi's is outrageous, I have a bunch of different pairs and they're all in different fits. This pair happens to be my favorite. To make the jeans even more awkward, I added some nerdy socks to keep my feet from freezing. Also, I couldn't forget my trusty cardigan from last winter.
I hate to be that blogger that just talks about the weather, but it's been awful here. It went from being in the 70s to being in the 30s. These temperatures feel subzero to me and I couldn't even stand outside for 5 minutes to take photos. C'est la vie.

I'm off to kick off the weekend. I hope you enjoy your's!

Lime Crime?

If any of you follow me on Twitter or read my Facebook, you know I'm on a quest for some unusual lipsticks. Especially in a gorgeous lavender color. My first instinct was to head over to MAC and see what they had, but in finding out I had missed their awesome Lavender Whip by two years, I was sad. Thus in my research, I discovered the much talked about company Lime Crime. (This may be old news to some of you, but hey I'm slow).
Photobucket
The founder of the company Doe Deere, claims that she is the queen of the unicorns. This is pretty evident by they unicorn lipstick tubes. I think that's a fun touch, and brings me back to childhood.
Photobucket
The lipsticks come in a range of crazy colors (since this photo was taken, the mint and yellow have been discontinued), I was most captivated by D'lilac, (second row, middle photo) Airborne Unicorn, (first row, third photo) and Oh No She Didn't (bottom row, first photo).

I'd love to try these gorgeous colors out, but there is one thing stopping me from purchasing. It's the fact that Lime Crime has been shrouded in controversy seemingly since the birth of the company. The company was notorious for repackaging eyeshadow and reselling under their name. That doesn't bother me at all, what bothers me was the attitude of Doe Deere when confronted with the issue. I'm not going to delve into it too deeply. If you want to read about the controversy, THIS beauty blog dives right in.

I'd really like to try some out but the review of the actual lipstick seems to be hit or miss.
Should I go for it? Are there any other brands selling colors like this? Help me out!

Vintage 1950's skirt, random tank top, H&M clutch, BCBG Generation pumps, and vintage jewelry.

Some of these photos were taken midday, before I got sick of my hair and got bored and painted my nails. But I digress...
This amazing skirt was my souvenir from my brief trip to New York City last month. I found it at this amazing vintage shop, Stella Dallas Vintage in Greenwich Village. As soon as I saw the pink fabric peeking out of the rack, I knew it would be mine. I'm so lucky that it fit perfectly. I'm not going to take up the length, because I like tea length skirts. I know it's a big no-no for a short girl to wear it, but I don't care.
I was so happy when the weather was nice enough to wear it. Unfortunately, now the 80 degree weather is gone and it's snowing. I kept the top simple to keep the outfit from being too ostentatious, or dated. I really have no idea where this tank came from, but the lace on the sleeves almost makes it underwear-esque. The only thing my outfit needed was some jewelry, I also tried something new by placing a pin on the waistline of my skirt. I really like the extra touch it added.

This gorgeous piece is going to be a staple in my closet this Summer. I bet you'll be seeing it a lot, so I apologize in advance. I hope you have a great start to your week!

party all the time, party all the time

Happy Friday! It's the grand ol' weekend and I wanted to give you a peek into my unflattering everyday life. This is me most days, a mix of screwed up facial expressions.

Here's a sneak peek of my upcoming post!

the grungy outfit

Vintage Pink Floyd tee, Charlotte Russe leggings, thrifted sweater, and years old Converse sneakers.

Every girl needs that outfit that she can bum around her house in, take walks in, and just feel free in. This is mine. When I'm spending a lot of time at my apartment, I find myself living in this shirt. It's my favorite vintage band tee, especially because it came from The Wall Tour - that's freaking awesome. Words cannot describe how much I love this shirt.
I rarely ever wear leggings when I'm out and about anymore, but I find them too comfortable not to bum around in at home. The only problem is, they seem to attract cat hair. Yuck.
My 7 year old Converse are also a must for taking walks, or running errands. They are still my go-to sneaker. After all this time, I think they are finally the perfect amount of worn-in.

I hope everyone is having a great week. I'm heading back to work tomorrow after a loss in my family. I'm pretty excited to get on a normal routine again.

Thrifted 90's shirt, thrifted Old Navy shorts, thrifted bag, and Restricted Footwear wedges.

There's nothing more exciting than the first really warm day of Spring. Compared to Saturday when I wore this outfit, today put the temperatures to shame. So I may have jumped the gun a little.
My absolute love for horrendously ugly 80's/90's garb is clearly evident by my awesome fish tee. I found it in the men's t-shirt rack at the thrift store while perusing for vintage band tees. It was 99 cents so of course it was a no-brainer purchase. Surprisingly, my boyfriend doesn't hate it. I took the ridiculousness to the next level by adding some lipstick. I've really been trying to dabble in some lip colors, I've never been keen on lips. I'm loving it so far, last week I donned some hot pink.

Life has been pretty frantic lately, and I've really missed having time to put together an outfit. It should be getting back to a semi-normal now. I really missed blogging on a regular basis.
I hope you all had a happy Monday!

Missoni for Target cardigan, Target dress, thrifted vintage belt, and Betsey Johnson platforms.

When noticing a bunch of my favorite pieces were blue, I decided to go totally monochromatic with my outfit for the day. The colors in this awesome dress I got for 5 dollars awhile ago, (seen plain HERE) matched my favorite Missoni for Target sweater perfectly. I was worried the outfit would look too crazy, but I decided I didn't care because I'm always crazy.
I tied the whole look together with this pretty vintage belt I got for 50 cents at Salvation Army. I love the big gold buckle, which is surprising because I'm not really into gold. Not to mention I added some more blue accessories, a crazy messy pony tail and was good to go!

It's a beautiful evening, so I'm going to take a walk. If you're having some bright sunny weather take advantage of it while you can. They say the April showers are coming.
