Antique 1910's lawn dress.

"A White Lady is a type of female ghost, dressed in all white reportedly seen in rural areas and associated with some local legend of tragedy. While White Lady legends are found in many countries around the world, they are most prominent in parts of the United States, Ireland, and Great Britain. Common to many of these legends is the theme of loss of a daughter, husband or father and a sense of purity before death." -- Wikipedia

It's the most wonderful time of the year - spooky season. In my opinion anyway. I did a creative photoshoot over the summer and, while looking over the photos, this look reminded me of a White Lady.
White Ladies are known all over the world and we have our very own famous White Lady here in Rochester. You can read about her here

So here is White Lady Morgan, who haunts the woods near where she died.
Morgan was deeply in love with a boy. A boy that maybe she cared for a little too much. One day that boy didn't return to her, so she waited. She waited and waited for him to come home. She waited until she withered away herself.
To this day she still wanders through the trees hoping to find her lost love. She is a ghost of benevolent nature and only reveals herself to those who are broken-hearted. She warns the broken folk that life is worth going on without love and to live while you can.
For she can't anymore.

Forever 21 romper, gifted sandals and sunglasses (don't know where they're from sorry!)

Here I am, about a month late sharing my Cancun photos. Business picked up when I got home, so I had a lot of adult life things to take care of.
I'm so excited to share this post because of this romper. A year ago I never would have worn it. I would have been deathly self-conscious and afraid. I have struggled a lot with showing skin and owning my body. There are a lot of reasons as to why, but I won't get into that.
What I will say is that I went into 2019 ready to challenge myself. Even in a small way like this.
It's a new year, it was time to leave all that baggage behind.
I practically had to when I found this romper anyway. It screamed my name and was the only one left in the store which happened to be my size. On top of that, it ended up being 4 bucks.
4 bucks for the 70's-inspired romper of my dreams?
Yes, please.
This particular day we toured a Mayan ruin. That's what all the stonework is in the photos. I've been to it a few times now, but it never ceases to amaze me. The fact that it's been there for a thousand years really puts life into perspective for me.

Mexico was really good for me. I was fortunate enough to go. 10 years ago, I never thought I'd ever see Mexico - let alone get to stay at a gorgeous resort.
I recharged, refocused, took time to assess what's really important in life. Now that I'm back, I'm mentally in a much better place. Reaching for things and making things happen.
It's already paying off.
In life, you have to put in what you want to receive.
But I won't bore you.
I have a random collection of photos from my vacation that I'll share next. A photo diary of my trip if you will.
I'm still working on my vlog as well - just having some technical problems (as usual).

xx,
Morgan

Vintage 1950's shirt, 1960's skirt and boots, Luella sunglasses(that are practically vintage I've had them since high school.)

Happy Halloween!
It's my favorite holiday. The past few years I've kept it pretty tame, but the spoopy still lives in my heart.
I decided to wear this orange gem today. Novelty prints from the 1950's are something I've always had a weakness for. It's the tacky that lives within me. Have I mentioned I'm tacky?
This particular print caught my eye because it's kind of strange. It's a foxes chasing after rabbits. You would assume by the colors it'd be witches flying on brooms.
Nope. Just foxes chasing after a kill?
Wholesome.
Another neato feature of this blouse is that it requires cuff-links. An artifact of the past that women rarely ever wear. Men rarely wear them anymore either, but occasionally still do.
I have a strong masculine side and for some reason this just makes me happy.
I'm part of the boys club now.

I spent my Halloween strolling through a graveyard as you can see. It's actually very relaxing. I enjoy doing this from time to time. It's very quiet and nature revives me.
I hope you had a wonderful Halloween.
Whether you dressed up or just took it easy at home.
Stay spoopy.

SADBOYCREW shirt, vintage 1980's suede skirt, eBay fishnets, Juicy Couture sunglasses, and olllllddd Target boots.

Hey.
After taking a two year break from doing this, I decided it's finally time to start again. This blog has been part of my life since 2010.
This is something that's been here to document how much I've changed over the years - not only stylistically, but as a person as well. I don't want to let it die.
This might be the first time a lot of you are seeing it.
I used to have so much fun doing this, then it wasn't fun anymore. The idea of doing this again is exciting to me.
So here I am.
I hope you enjoy it. Not only the photos, but the dumb words I have to say about them too.

Let's talk about this shirt, okay? Over the summer I went to the final cross country Vans Warped Tour. Warped Tour was something I used to go to every year as a teenager, so I had to go to the last one. I could dig out old embarrassing photos of me meeting bands in my homemade shirts, looking like a big ol' fangirl. But I'll spare you.
I really wanted to get something from the final tour. Something I could wear and remember those days fondly.
I found the booth Sadboycrew. After seeing the shirt "Sadboycrew Generic Emotions" I knew I had to get it.
It embodies everything about the tour and the me that grew from it.
I was a sadboy back then. I'll always be one.
They're a pretty neat company. All the items are made in the USA and the shirt is really high quality (they didn't ask me to write this, I promise you). The boys running the booth were very sweet and talkative as well.

How did I decide to style this shirt? With an obnoxious '80s suede pencil skirt, of course. It was one of those things where the look just popped into my head. Sometimes I don't know where these images of pieces from my closet mashed together come from. Maybe it's the clothes letting me know they want to be worn. I have so many that they all don't get worn very often. Guess this skirt wanted its moment in the sun.

If you're going to wear an outfit like this anytime soon, I recommend you wear a coat. It's October, but I'm still being stubborn. I didn't wear one and froze my butt off.

I might be a little out of practice writing these blog posts, but I hoped you enjoyed reading it. Let me know what you think, what I can improve upon, and if you like this idea.

Vintage 1940's sweater dress, Betsey Johnson leather belt, and Forever 21 platforms.

This beautiful dress was a gift from Brian's amazing mom. I think she bought it with the intention of me putting it in the shop, but when it fit me perfectly I knew I couldn't part with it! It's truly a showstopper. I never thought a sweater dress could move and flow the way this one does. The quality of vintage clothing never ceases to wow me, no matter how many years I've been buying it.

My messy, disheveled hair always seems to be an accessory to some elegant vintage dress I own. I can't seem to do anything with it and sometimes it just looks wrong. But you know what? That's 100% me. I'm always disheveled and a little off kilter and I'm okay with that.
I wouldn't have it any other way. It's too tiring to try and hide all the weird parts of me anyway. It would take way too much time.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! We spent ours with my family and Brian's family. My two little fams came together as one. It was great!

Vintage 1950's dress, vintage bow, and BCBGeneration pumps.

Okay, I seriously don't know what is wrong with me. This post has been sitting in my queue since 10/22! What the hell? I can't even. So here you go, my post from a month ago:

On what most likely will be the last 80 degree day we have here in Rochester, I knew I had to wear something I forgot to wear over the summer. That just happened to be this beautiful dress from the 50's. The last time I wore it was way back HERE. Unfortunately, due to my massive (and unhealthy) collection of clothes, I just remembered to alter it. Finally, it's perfect and then I forget to wear it. Typical me. I'm happy it got to go for a spin. It's quite a gem. I can't think of another dress in my vintage arsenal that truly makes me feel like I stepped back in time. To the reign of Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe. Speaking of Jane Russell, I found a picture of her wearing a dress very similar to this one. Needless to say, I freaked out just a little bit knowing I had one like it.
I can't really say much more than that. I think the dress speaks for itself.

I hope your week is going well! I'm excited for Thanksgiving!
