Thrifted Target shirt, thrifted handmade skirt, vintage purse, and five year old gladiator sandals.

This skirt. What can I say about this skirt? It's the perfect cross between tacky and old-fashioned patriotism. I bought it over a year ago and never got around to wearing it until this Memorial Day. Somehow a red, white, and blue skirt just doesn't work on a day that's not a national holiday. It reminds me of all those boho skirts that were super-popular around 2005. I had one and I really loved it. It's funny how sentimentality can affect so many of our decisions.

Another year has passed and these sandals are still a summer staple in my closet. I've had them for almost 6 years now. In that time they were deemed a trend that you shouldn't be caught dead in, to being popular again. I don't care whether they're popular or not, they always seem to go with everything.

Please forgive me for my shirt being so wrinkled. With winter being 9 months long around here, my summer shirts sit stuffed in a drawer collecting wrinkles.

I hope you had a great week and don't forget tomorrow I'll be selling some of my goodies at the Bloggers Closet Yard Sale!

Knitted Dove dress from Shop Peppermint, Five Below sunglasses, Target socks, and BCBG sandals.

Every spring, I try to take at least one blog post in front of some flowering tree. This time I was lucky enough to get a few photos in front of this gorgeous magnolia tree that's across the street from my store. While doing a little Googling about Magnolia's I found something interesting. They have found fossilized blossoms from 20 million years ago and think Magnolia trees are as old as 90 million years. They are truly an ancient tree.

Enough with fact sharing time, it's time to talk about this dress. I am so in love with it. Of course Shop Peppermint is amazing and this is just one of the many amazing dresses to come from this store. If I had more money I'm sure half my closet would be filled with owner Tanvi's designs. We are so lucky to have Tanvi here. Her store is just incredible and I admire her so much.  Click here to check out her online store.
On this particular day, we actually wore the same dress! It was so funny.
Here's a pic:

I hope you are having a wonderful week! I'll leave you with a little something that makes me chuckle.

Thrifted dress, years old Old Navy blazer, gifted purse, and Ferragamo flats.

I snapped these photos with my little point and shoot two weeks ago before all the trees came back to life. In a week and a half everything's bloomed and it's finally starting to feel like spring.
This was the start of setting my legs free from pants and tights. I don't think I've worn tights since this day and it was pretty liberating. Is it even more liberating or lazy if I haven't shaved my legs?
I've had this blazer since I was in high school. Seriously, it's been in the back of my closet for 8 years. I was a pop-punk/emo chick back then, so the metallic gold kind of interfered with my all black look. Now that I'm older, I'm glad I kept it. I really dig it.

A week and a half ago I had a one year celebration for my business! I was super busy and then took a week off from blogging and YouTubing. I just needed some time to collect myself. Now that the weather is nicer, I'm actually excited to document more outfits. It's the only time of the year where I can wear my massive collection of dresses. Dresses make everything so much easier.

In a couple weeks I'll be selling some of my old clothes/vintage wear at the Bloggers Closet Yard Sale! If you live in Rochester, you should come. The lovely Jennifer at Flower City Fashionista put it together. Check out the Facebook event for the details!

M Missoni sweater dress, thrifted turtleneck, Target tights, and vintage 60's go-go boots

As you can tell by my outfit, it hasn't warmed up here at all. I'm still donning tights and boots while I wait for everything to thaw. Honestly though, I've been dying to wear these boots. When I first started to get into vintage, I never really cared for vintage footwear. These days, I can't get enough. I'm so lucky to have found a pair of go-go boots in my size! Everything about them is perfect. The soft leather, the square toe and the lacing up the side. I feel like Nancy Sinatra should pop out and start singing.

Fun fact: in the 1960's the concept of the fashion boot was revolutionary. Women only wore boots during bad weather or for riding. With the introduction of the Go-Go and Chelsea styles, fashion boots skyrocketed to mainstream success. Since then boots have been a staple in every woman's wardrobe. I love learning about vintage fashion so much. I could seriously write a Wikipedia page with my knowledge.

I'm pretty bummed about the weather, I'm sure everyone who lives here is. The leaves haven't even started to bloom yet. Flowers are just barely peeking out of the ground. It's affected me and my outfits. I haven't been at the top of my game lately. I hope the weather is better wherever you live and if you live here, I hope you're coping better than I am.
