Vintage blazer, thrifted silk blouse, Forever 21 two-tone jeans, and Acne Atacoma boots.

Winter is still in full-swing here. That makes me angry and depressed. And nothing signifies that more than an all black outfit. Maybe it's because I'm an east coast gal, but wearing all black is easy for me. When I'm stumped in the morning, I don't have to think about what goes with what.

The major black piece that's a power player in this outfit is the blazer. I nearly fainted when I found this blazer, it's that perfect to me. Admittedly, I don't wear it enough, but it's just AMAZING. I love menswear for women, but I have a particular penchant for tuxedo-wear for women. Along with this piece, I have two tuxedo-themed dresses (one seen HERE) and probably some shirts too. Maybe it's because I love dressing up, or maybe it's because I love men in suits so much that I want to wear one? I do love a good suit.

Whenever I'm a little down I break out my special Acne Atacomas. If you want to read their story you can here.

Side note: Why am I significantly paler this year than I EVER HAVE BEEN? It's frustrating! Did I die without realizing I was dead? AM I A GHOST? None of my foundation is the right color anymore! BLAHHH.

Thrifted Saks silk blazer, thrifted Victoria's Secret slip dress, Kathy Van Zeeland bag, and Restricted Footwear wedges.

This blazer has sat in my closet practically untouched since I bought it two years ago. It was a great find at only 5 bucks. It was also a very rare find because there are never nice things like this laying around here. It's a really unique color and is super soft. It also came with horrendous shoulder pads that I removed.
I paired it with a simple slip dress because my obsession with them seems never-ending. I love how they look under things. Almost as if I woke up in my night gown and just threw a jacket over it. It kind of comes off as low maintenance (or sloppy), depending on how you look at it.
Also, I was trying out some cotton candy pink lipstick I picked up last weekend. I'm really liking it so far, it seems to go with everything!

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Thrifted Land's End silk blazer, Target tee, Express jeans, Kathy Van Zeeland bag and Forever 21 mary janes.

On Friday I was really ready for Spring attire. It was fairly warm and I could get away with wearing just a silk blazer. It's an awesome piece, so boxy, so comfortable. Plus, it was $2.50 or something. Dirt cheap. It also matches my bag in an uncanny way. Something I didn't plan at all. In fact, it reminded me that I wear this purse way too much.
I was also really excited to wear my mary janes again. I haven't worn them all Winter (my toes would freeze!). They add such a kick to any outfit.

I'm trying to enjoy the sun today, unfortunately it's 19 degrees out. I'll find a way to stay warm!

For my whole life I've just been a brunette. I have never dyed my hair and I really wanted to try something new. I don't care if most people think the "ombre" trend is played out, trashy, or any other negative adjective to describe this hairstyle. I like it and it's a great way to experiment without totally ruining my hair. I also don't have the patience to dye my hair and wait for my natural color to grow back out. I like my natural color and am way too lazy about my hair to keep up with the roots. (It sounds awful but it's true. haha.)
It's pretty funny, I went in just to get the ends bleached so I could put turquoise on the ends. I ended up liking the blonde so much I decided to keep it. I'm just going to put a few blue streaks in. I've always wanted to try some wacky colors!

Thrifted Land's End silk blazer, Forever 21 floral mary janes and tee, vintage shorts and necklace.

I'm always a sucker for a nice long blazer, although I'm not used to pairing them with shorts. I was envisioning wearing this with jeans but when I peeked outside this morning, there was sun! So I traded pants for shorts to enjoy what's probably the last of the summer temps. There is nothing like a breezy blazer on a beautiful day. Especially one in baby pink! It's a nice change from my normal colorless ensembles.
This is also the first time I've worn my floral mary janes, I know I've had these since July but never got around to wearing them. They are very tall, but very comfortable. I felt like I could wear them all day. Mastering walking in them takes awhile though ha ha.

I'm taking off for the night! Have a great weekend!

Thrifted woven silk blazer, thrifted Bongo pants, Forever 21 tee, Ferragamo patent leather flats.

This photo session ended up being spontaneous after a late Saturday brunch with my boy. I stepped out of the apartment with no intention of an outfit post, but saw an empty parking lot off Monroe Ave and said; "Hey let's take photos!"
This outfit is just a reflection of me enjoying the slowly warming temperatures of our late Spring. Normally I try to wear my Summer pieces super early and I miss out on all the beautiful Spring pieces in my closet. I'm loving light-weight blazers like this teal one I drooled over and purchased a few months ago. It wasn't until I got it home I realized it was entirely made out of silk: luxurious!
I've also been living in these black skinnies I picked up for $3.50 last week. They remind me of Audrey Hepburn circa Funny Face. I think a pair of classic black pants should be a staple in every girl's closet!

Well I think it's time to bid the internet adieu for tonight. I'm probably off to watch some cheesy 80's horror movie with my boyfriend. We've really been on a John Carpenter bender lately.
