H&M polka dot top, thrifted shorts, Restricted Footwear wedges, and Icing necklace and sunglasses.

During our time at the shop today, my mom and I roamed around and took these photos. Most of these were taken within 50 feet of the store front; it's nice to work in a place that's so beautiful!
We've been so busy working this week it was nice to take a little break and enjoy the sunshine.
As I'm writing this, I'm actually still wearing this outfit. It's so playful, that's what I love about polka dots!
These shorts are not very flattering on me, but I don't care. They are comfy and fun to romp around in. I got them at a huge sale at Salvation Army a few months back. It was 5 dollars to stuff a garbage bag, best sale ever! This polka dot top I got last summer at another crazy sale, only it was at H&M. It was one size too big but only $3 bucks. Kind of like how it fits better than my size.
Can't forget to mention this amazing chain necklace that I'm sure you've seen me wear before. I can't get enough of it lately. To me, it just adds the right pop to any outfit! It was scored in another crazy sale I encountered. 1o items for 10 bucks. I split the items with my niece because I couldn't even find 10 items! Now that I mention it, that's where these sunglasses came from too.

I'm heading off to kick start my weekend by having a wonderful dinner out with my boy. I can't wait to take advantage of my apartment's pool tomorrow, feels like I haven't been there all summer. Have a great weekend kids, and enjoy the summer weather while it lasts!

BCBG dress, Chanel flats, Gap bag, and Forever 21 owl ring.

While strolling through my closet trying to find something to wear to work, I came across this dress. I haven't worn it in about three years. It matched my personality perfect back then, swishy and almost girly. You would never know it, but I'm not a very girly person. I love super feminine clothes but my personality just repels being girly.
Anyway, I wore this to work at my vintage shop and went straight out to grab sushi with my boy. It floated seamlessly into a casual dinner outfit to eat by the harbor. Although, I should have brought a jacket because I ended up freezing!
I have to tell you, these Chanel flats are the most comfortable I've ever owned. Every time I wear them I can't help but stare at my feet as I walk.

I must be going now though, my cats keep biting my feet. They are begging me to feed them.
Happy Wednesday!

1- back of the dress I wore Saturday
2- birds at the bay
3- Brian at DSW trying on shoes
4 - sunset Friday night
5- my first dipped cone
6- a swan that tried to attack me
7- relaxing in my sandals
8- mini golfing in a 1960's dress from Germany

I had an exciting/relaxing weekend. My boy and I grabbed some sushi at sunset and walked around the harbor Friday night. It was so much fun, we got to eat outside.
Saturday we went mini golfing at this super fun course, which is one of the oldest in the country. Then we got root beer floats and hung out by the bay where a swan tried to attack me. It seriously got 2 feet away from me!
Lastly, on Sunday we took a mini day trip to Buffalo. We spent the day at the Galleria Mall and then had dinner at Duff's. Yeah, world famous Duff's who won Food Wars for best chicken wings! They were delicious.

Unfortunately, the weekend is over and it's back to work! I hope everyone had an amazing time!

Last weekend, the boy and I took a wonderful day trip to this cute little resort town on the shore of Lake Ontario. When we arrived after traveling for about an hour, I was surprised to see a bunch of boardwalk shops. Each store was tiny and had it's own unique flair, but I was even more surprised to find a vintage shop entitled Sea Hag Vintage.
Walking inside I was overwhelmed by all of the amazing coats, skirts, handbags, jewelry, and shoes. Let me tell you, there was so much of everything in this tiny space! While I was sorting through who knows what, my boyfriend exclaimed, "Are these real?" I turned to find him holding the best treasure ever - a pair of authentic vintage Chanel flats. The label inside was almost worn off, but I could still read it. Long story short, that's how I wound up with these beauties:

The leather is so soft, and they are so comfortable. They definitely have already become a staple in my closet. Expect to see a lot of them!

Anyway, it's time to grab a nice dinner to celebrate the weekend. Happy Friday!

Thrifted silk blouse, vintage Jordache shorts, thrifted Nine West sandals, and gifted Gap bag.

After work last Friday my mom and I walked through town and enjoyed ourselves. We snapped a few photos. My mom is a talented photographer and we had fun taking these photos. The only problem was, I really shouldn't have worn this button up. I didn't expect it to reach almost 90 degrees. No long sleeves in the heat!
What I really want to talk about is the Nine West sandals I got for $2.50, that's right two dollars and fifty cents. Salvation Army has the best treasures! They go with almost everything in my closet; jeans, shorts, skirts, and dresses. I really can't wait to pair them with some whimsical skirts.

I didn't get to post this earlier because I had a busy weekend. My boy and I went to an animal shelter on Saturday and we got to pet some horses. I also got to get my picture taken in front of a giant bull statue, must show you guys. Then Sunday, we went on a little day trip to a little lake community. I found the tiniest vintage shop right on the water, what a fun day.

I'm about to go enjoy some quiet time with my boy, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

PS: I tried on this new app on my phone where you get comments about your outfit. It's kind of like Chictopia. Most girls don't like my vintage Levi's, they can't get over the high waist. Too bad I'll never stop wearing them!

Fading

Thrifted vintage dress, American Eagle canvas heels, and Plinko the cat.

Okay I'm about to rant so prepare yourself. I saw a comment on the lovely blog of Karla from Karla's Closet that really bothered me.
"Not only are you my favorite blogger because you have great taste (you aren't the typical hipster) but you aren't rail thin. You are in great shape. So inspiring to see an actual womans' body."
This really bothers me. This person is basically saying, if you're skinny you're not an actual woman. I admire Karla's curves and the whole point of blogging is to get prospective from real women. A skinny blogger like Rumi of Fashiontoast, is a real woman too. Not every woman is the same, and being skinny happens to naturally occur in nature. There is nothing wrong with that. Just like there is nothing wrong with a woman being shapely and having curves. We should embrace diversity not segment it.

Okay, rant over. Anyway, nothing says Summer to me like a sundress, messy hair, and no accessories. (Am I the only one who can't stand jewelry in the heat?) Every fashion expert would probably tell you I violated basic style codes with this outfit, but I don't care. I know the length of the dress is unflattering on a shorty like me, but it's so fun! I also know that ankle strap pumps cut your legs and make them look shorter, but I love the shoes! A long skirt and ankle strap, double offense!
I got this dress back in March and altered it to my size. There were two problems that occurred from this. I tailored one side of the dress beautifully, but got tired on the second side and sloppily sewed. This makes the dress bunch in the middle funny, oh well! Second problem is, I've lost weight since I tailored it, and now it's too big again. I'll just have to fix it all over.

I'm at work, so I have to go and do actual work. What a concept.

PS: my cat was absolutely terrified being on the balcony.

1- My Schwinn Delmar beach cruiser.
2- My favorite sandals for lazy summer days.
3- A poplar tree that I love. It's so close to my balcony.
4- Almost done reading this.
5- My cat's favorite thing to do.
6- Sunglasses I wear too much. They are sitting on a table I found by my dumpster.
7- My awfully 90's neon Bugle Boy tank.

I have been trying to enjoy this lovely summer while I can. Today I lounged on my balcony reading a book. Then took a nice bike ride and spent some quality time with my cats. All in all a good day. I'm in a style slump, and have been living in every pair of denim shorts I own. I feel like this would be extremely boring to post about, so I haven't shared my outfits. I've also been only wearing sandals and it's very liberating to have my toes be free!
I'm going to head out. I'll have something concrete to post about soon; for now I'm going to have a lovely dinner outside.
Enjoy your evening! xoxoxo
