Acne Atacoma boots.

I'm so excited to share that I now own my dream boots! A little over a month ago (in THIS post),  I talked about how I would never own them. By some crazy miracle, I was combing eBay for Acne jeans and came across the boots (in my size no less). The seller just wanted to get rid of them and didn't care about profit so I got them for $77! That is absolutely INSANE to me.
I'll be sharing them in an outfit post soon.

I hope you had a good Monday!

(I did not alter this image in any way except to take a nasty red vein out of my eye)

I'm am a mascara junkie. I am seriously willing to try any kind I can get my hands on. So when I saw a million packets of this Almay mascara for $1 I immediately bought it.
I was a little skeptical at first with the kind of clunky packaging, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Let me first start off by talking about the dial. It's a pretty genius concept. You can turn the little dial from 1 to 3 based on how dramatic you want your mascara to look. It tightens the opening inside so more (or less) comes off on the brush.
I keep mine at 3 because I like crazy lashes.

This is honestly one of the best mascaras I've ever used. It makes my eyelashes crazy long and doesn't clump. It stays on a crazy long time (even through naps!). It's also really good for sensitive eyes - I recommended it to my mom (mascara always burns her eyes) and she loves it!

The only drawback would be that it's not waterproof. Personally, I don't like waterproof so that's not a problem for me, although it might be for some.

Overall, if you see this product for a buck, BUY IT. It's a great mascara.
(I was NOT paid by Almay to write this.)

Have a great weekend!

Forever 21 knit top, years old Max Rave skirt, Lane Bryant sunglasses, and Target tights and boots.

Yesterday was the first time I had seen the sun in weeks. Feeling overjoyed at seeing the lost sun, I decided to dress up for the occasion. I pulled out one of my favorite skirts that I've had for years. It's actually one of the only pieces from my high school wardrobe that I still wear. My mom surprised me with it back when I was 15 and I'm still in love with it today. I wasn't very fashionable in high school.

I'm so happy I got to wear these boots - they're outrageous. I got them over the summer at Target for $10 and they're so fun. I love that they mimic hiking boots, although you should never wear them hiking. That probably would result in a sprained ankle. They're very well made considering how cheap they are and are very comfy.

The lipstick that I'm wearing photographed much more burgundy that it is in real life. It's really more of a violet, like this color. It's Sephora's rouge cream lipstick in Bewitch Me. I got it on clearance for $5. It's super dramatic and I love it.

I had a wonderful Wednesday catching up with a friend I hadn't seen in awhile. I hope your week is going great.

simplistic saturday

Thrifted turtleneck, H&M trousers, thrifted leather bag and vintage Ferragamo flats.

Getting a late start to my Saturday prompted this simplistic outfit. It was my first time wearing these pants that I got back in January and at first I didn't know what shirt to wear. Then I remembered I had this turtleneck hiding in my dresser. I thought it would be a nice little homage to something Audrey Hepburn would wear.

I got a lot of strange looks from passerbys and I couldn't really figure out why. Maybe they don't like turtlenecks. I never really did until I bought my first one - now I'll never look back!

I hope you had an easy start to your week. Mine is going to be a busy one.

Freeze shirt, Forever 21 knit skirt, gifted scarf, thrifted leather bag, Target tights, and thrifted Timberland boots.

Lately I've been trading in more conservative outfits for something that's a little more fun. With the weather being a murky gray every day, it's hard not to feel so blah about everything. So I decided my Beetlejuice skirt needed to come out again. Why not pair some ridiculous stripes with hot pink? Seems like the most logical thing to do. I had fun wearing this outfit and isn't that the goal of fashion? To have a little fun?
I truly love these boots too. They're perfect for the slushy/muddy weather we've been having. I like wearing them with tights and skirts/dresses. There's also a plus side: they're super comfy for days when my feet hate me.

Well Wednesday is almost over! Hope you're having a great week.

Vintage 1960's wool coat, years old sweater dress from TJ Maxx, Target tights, Lane Bryant sunglasses and Forever 21 pumps.

Unfortunately, during this photo session after a major chow down at my favorite buffet, my camera's battery died. We only got a few photos of me looking incredibly cold and awkward. It was freezing and to be honest I probably wasn't dressed properly for the weather. I'm just hopeful that one of these days I won't be restricted to pants and can wear a dress without freezing.

I know I've talked about this coat before, but it's my favorite. I wear it so much that the old threads have ripped in a bunch of places. I have to get it repaired - I can't imagine a winter without it. It's the perfect length for me since I'm so short and all the little details are so wonderful.

I'm bummed my camera died before I got the chance to take a photo of my new pumps. They're perfect for wearing in not-so-nice weather since they were so cheap. I think they were $7 on sale. Great deal.

We made it through Monday; I hope the start of your week was wonderful!

Thrifted skirt, H&M shirt, thrifted Nine West coat, Target tights, and Forver 21 Mary Janes.

I decided to put on some super-girlie, red and pink clothes for Valentine's Day. I sprung for this skirt, because every time I open my closet, there it is staring at me. I haven't worn it since I bought it almost a year ago. It has a pretty funny story associated with it. I saw it sitting on the rack and thought it was cute. I held it up against my waist and thought it would fit. When I got to the dressing room I saw the label. It's from The Children's Place and is a child's size 6. It fit me fine so I bought it anyway. I know my waist is small at 25" but I can't imagine a 6 year old fitting in it. It just goes to show you, you never know what interesting things await you at Salvation Army.

Another piece I was dying to wear was my Nine West coat. I got it for $12 at Volunteers of America and it's been way too cold to wear it. Luckily, I got to wear it a few times in the fall. You can't really tell from the photos, but it has a very beautiful embroidery pattern all over it. The details can really make a piece.

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day and have a wonderful weekend. Brian and I are going to see Wreck-It Ralph at the dollar theater tonight. I'm excited!
