Thrifted turtleneck, vintage 60's wool skirt, Target tights, I wore my Ferragamo's during the day obviously they're not pictured.

Merry Christmas from my little family to yours!
If you don't celebrate, I hope you have a great weekend.

Thrifted skirt, gifted t-shirt, vintage 60's cardigan, vintage 40's hat, vintage 60's coat, Target tights, and Ferragamo flats.

I'm clearly obnoxiously into dressing for the holidays. In the past week, I've been pulling anything that's red or green out of my closet (and sometimes pairing it together like this). Luckily for me, this newly thrifted skirt of mine is red AND green.
It's actually a girl's skirt, but it fits me. The only part about it that doesn't fit me is the suspenders. I left them hanging to the side because if I had put them on, I would have looked like I was wearing a ridiculous tunic.
When I thrift, I don't care what age or gender a particular item of clothing belongs to. If I like it and it fits me, it's coming home with me!

I'm so happy I actually remembered to wear a hat. I'm such a spaz that I normally forget any kind of accessory and all the beautiful hats I have never get worn. I'm thinking about leaving myself post-it notes all over the house to remind me to accessorize. Is that overkill?

I hope you're having a great week and surviving the first big snow storm!

Thrifted Target shirt, thrifted handmade skirt, vintage purse, and five year old gladiator sandals.

This skirt. What can I say about this skirt? It's the perfect cross between tacky and old-fashioned patriotism. I bought it over a year ago and never got around to wearing it until this Memorial Day. Somehow a red, white, and blue skirt just doesn't work on a day that's not a national holiday. It reminds me of all those boho skirts that were super-popular around 2005. I had one and I really loved it. It's funny how sentimentality can affect so many of our decisions.

Another year has passed and these sandals are still a summer staple in my closet. I've had them for almost 6 years now. In that time they were deemed a trend that you shouldn't be caught dead in, to being popular again. I don't care whether they're popular or not, they always seem to go with everything.

Please forgive me for my shirt being so wrinkled. With winter being 9 months long around here, my summer shirts sit stuffed in a drawer collecting wrinkles.

I hope you had a great week and don't forget tomorrow I'll be selling some of my goodies at the Bloggers Closet Yard Sale!

Vintage 60's Girl Scout skirt, thrifted tee, vintage sweater, thrifted Kathy Van Zeeland bag, vintage star necklace (it was my mom's), and vintage Ferragamo flats.

I know. I'm wearing a part of a Girl Scout's uniform. Let me explain. I have a love for the history the clothes hold; that's part of why I was drawn to making vintage my life. So when I found this 1960's Girl Scout skirt, I thought it was the coolest thing (not to mention, I'm an ex-Girl Scout and it struck a cord with me). Also, my mom was with me at the time and she told me it was exactly the same as the one she wore in the 60's. Totally sealed the deal. Surprisingly, it was way too big and I knew it. It's a rare find so I took it in myself.

You can make fun of me for wearing this cardigan that is the epitome of a grandma sweater. Brian relentlessly makes fun of me every time I walk out of the house in it. As well as my friends, my family, and random people on the street who stare. I have a problem with loving grandma sweaters. Yesterday I was at Wendy's with my mom and there was this lady in her 70's in line. I turned to my mom and said: "See, I'm truly a grandma - I would wear that lady's sweater." She just laughed. I was serious.

I hope you're having a good week. Mine has been nuts!

Vintage 50's skirt, years old H&M shirt, vintage bag, Five Below sunglasses, and vintage 70's Bass sandals.

Part of being a woman - no, the part of being alive that is so incredibly wonderful is I can wake up in the morning and become whatever I want. On this particular day it was reveling in the femininity of a 50's skirt. Exploring what it means to be alluring without showing skin.
Some days I want to dress like a 50's housewife and some days I want to be a dirty rock star. Other days it's mixing masculine and feminine, or old and new. I can turn myself into whomever I want. That's the beauty of life. Choices. I am incredibly humbled by all the choices I am given. I can do what I want, be who I want; some people aren't that lucky.
Don't corner yourself into one style. Let all the facets of your personality shine. That's what makes fashion delve past superficiality. If you wake up one day and are feeling like 90's grunge, go for it.
Be the girl who when asked to describe your style in one word, has no answer.
You're one-of-a-kind and can't possibly be described with one word.
There are so many complexities to all of us - that's what makes us beautifully human.

Thrifted Target dress worn as a shirt, H&M skirt, Kathy Van Zeeland bag, and Miu Miu SS2010 clogs.

This skirt is another piece I picked up from the "going out of business sale" back in January. As soon as it hit 70 degrees, I knew it would be the first thing I wore.
I don't have a lot of white lace in my closet and after wearing this, I know I want more. Sometimes you just have to wear something that's over the top girly when it's warm (guys I'm looking at you too).

I have a confession to make: I fully intended on wearing these clogs all day but I had to take them off. The reason I haven't been wearing heels a lot lately is because I have nasty shin splints. They are really painful and I'm missing wearing heels! I can't wait until they feel better - I won't be able to take my high heels off.

Well, it's late and I hope you're getting some good sleep. I'm going to waste the next hour on YouTube.

P.S. It's bittersweet to say that this will be the last time I'm at my favorite photo spot. It's in Honeoye Falls and I'm finally all moved out and about to open on Park Ave!
