H&M dress, years old New York and Company cardigan, rope belt from who knows where, and vintage Ferragamo flats.

I wore this outfit to a kid's birthday party yesterday when it was 70 and sunny. By the time I got home to snap some photos, it was pouring. Brian and I settled on an impromptu photo-shoot inside. Complete with The Twist, my iMac poster, and some cats (I don't know where they came from, they just showed up).

I got this dress back in January when the H&M in my area was going out of business. It was the only one left and a size too big, but I loved it. I honestly don't mind how it fits and it was only $7. I couldn't wait to wear it, but unfortunately had to wait 4 months due to the awful weather around here. I think I'll be wearing it a lot this summer.

I hope you had a great Monday and remember: no kitties were harmed during the making of this post.

H&M skirt, Forever 21 sweater top, Target thigh highs, Kathy Van Zeeland bag (it's over 5 years old), Lane Bryant sunglasses, and thrifted loafers.

Today I woke up and the sun was shining. I was pretty excited to wear a skirt, but when I checked the temperature I noticed it was chilly. I didn't feel like wearing tights so I put on a pair of thigh-high socks. I have so many pairs from when I went on a buying binge a couple years ago. I was obsessed with the idea of wearing thigh-highs with everything and only wore them a few times. I'm ready to give my collection a workout!

I kept the outfit black and white mainly because I was so excited to wear my new loafers. I got them at Salvation Army in a stroke of thrifting luck. I'm super in love with them. I'm addicted to the "click click click" sound they make when I walk. My man-shoe collection is rapidly growing. Cue a groan from Brian.

I hope you're week was wonderful. Mine was very productive, but now I have to go watch Dates From Hell. I'm way too into the Investigation Discovery channel.

Missoni for Target sweater, years old pleated skirt, thrifted Nine West coat, Kathy Van Zeeland bag, vintage sunglasses, and thrifted Sam Edelman flats.

I've been so busy working on my new shop that I haven't had much time to think about putting an outfit together. Most of my ensembles consist of a sweater, jeans, and flats. Today, it was finally warm enough to wear a skirt.
I wore these flats today, because they are so comfortable and perfect for doing a lot of walking. I got them a few months ago at Savers (normally, I never go there); they were $5. Such a great deal!

I've realized that every spring, I seem to forget to put on my beautiful spring coats. Today, I made sure I wore one of my favorites. It's perfect for weather like we've been having.

Like I said, I've been so busy and I'll keep you updated on what's happening! Hope you're having a great week.

Missoni for Target hoodie dress, H&M cotton tights, Target loafers, and Prada purse.

I wanted to post this yesterday but in light of certain events it just seemed so silly to post something so self-indulgent. My heart is with you, Boston.
I still feel silly talking about my outfit when there are so many more important things to talk about. I'll keep it short.

I had originally wanted to wear something totally different than this outfit in NYC. Unfortunately, it was pretty chilly so I wore my warm Missoni for Target dress. I still was cold and had to wear my hood up all day for extra warmth. I got a few strange looks from passerbys; I guess I'm still weird in New York. (Just kidding, I'm know I'm weird everywhere).
I was so excited to break in my new Prada purse that I talked about in this post. I still can't believe it was 76 bucks.

Wherever you live, I hope you're safe. Hug all your loved ones!

I always love some quality time in NYC (or as Brian and I call it, our future home). I love it. We always manage to see so much when we're there and we eat lots of wonderful food too.
We were only there for 7 hours but we managed to cover a lot of ground.
We stumbled upon a street fair on Broadway which was a lot of fun. There was a guy selling Haines underwear and socks, and a lot of stands selling watermelon in a cup. Very eclectic.
I chowed down on sushi, some delectable pizza, and a big macaroon. I didn't actually get to eat at Goodburger, but it was fun to see a part of my childhood come to life (oh, "All That" - so many memories). Next time I go I'm definitely eating there; they're supposed to have one of the best burgers in the city.

I hope your week got off to a wonderful start. Tomorrow is my Monday since I just got home and I have a lot of work to do. Take it easy!

new beginnings

 photo IMG_2722_zps498ed312.jpg

Hey all! I'm currently in Tarrytown, New York on a mini trip with Brian and my family. Tomorrow Brian and I are heading into NYC to spend the day and I'm really excited for that.

What I really wanted to share was the new location for my store! It's super exciting to be moving to my favorite area of my city. I'll keep you guys posted on the progress. It's going to be a fun ride.

Enjoy your weekend!

Thrifted Gap Kids dress, Forever 21 shirt, Target tights, Kathy Van Zeeland bag, Lane Bryant sunglasses and vintage Chanel flats.

I found this kids dress in the women's section at Salvation Army and was a little disappointed. I thought it might fit and it does (if I don't mind my chest being crushed for the duration). That's a small sacrifice for the price: it was $2.50. I love velvet - there's something about it that feels very old world to me. When I wear it, I feel close to people of the 1800's (maybe that's a little crazy, but that's just me). It can be very impractical, but I'm determined to make it work (as Tim Gunn would say).

I hope you're having a great week!
