Vintage 1950's dress, vintage bag and BCBG Max Azria sandals.

Just a quick iPhone snap of what I wore to a wedding last weekend. I picked up this dress when I bought a few items for my shop. I fell in love with it and had to wear it. Unfortunately, it's too big in the bust so I'm going to sell it.

I'm off for an action-packed weekend. I'm going out of town to celebrate my best friend's birthday! I hope you all have an amazing weekend.

Missoni for Target dress, thrifted leather bag, eBay sunglasses and Target booties.

There is nothing more essential to me than simple styling after a night of feeling sick. That's exactly how I dressed this morning. If you have been reading my blog for awhile you've probably seen this dress before. It's such a statement piece that it doesn't need much else. That's why I chose it this morning. After a year, I'm still smitten with it. The colors and knit make it perfect for fall, which is the best time of year.

Fall is also wonderful because I can wear my new booties! I scored these for 6 bucks in the Target clearance aisle. I sometimes feel like I'm always at Target. I get a lot of basics there because of their awesome clearance prices. Too much wonderfulness. Also, too much money spent there.

Well, I'm already loving our beautiful fall weather. I hope you're enjoying it too.

Sugarlips Neptune Cadet dress, Target cross body purse, Icing chain necklace, eBay sunglasses, and Aldo Smeal heels.

This gorgeous dress is courtesy of Sugarlips (click to go the website)! I was so excited to wear it without a jacket due to a warm spell we've had. It's super soft and comfortable, even though it's sparkly. That's a problem I have with a lot of metallic knits, they're incredibly itchy. Not this dress! I love that the cut is so flattering. I usually feel super self-conscious when I wear a body-con dress. This one hugged me in all the right places (thank goodness! I don't want to look like a sausage in a tube sock). The cut really reminded me Carrie Bradshaw's dress from season two of Sex and the City. Simple, yet fabulous.

I love the whole alien/space cadet vibe the dress has going on. The silver lame really looks like liquid when it's on, so cool! I'm going to wear it again tomorrow for date night. Normally I have trouble styling body-con dresses, but I found the silver actually made it easier (I thought it'd be harder!). My heavy chain necklace went perfectly. That necklace was a great investment, it goes with everything.

Instead going for a casual daytime look, I went for a bold one. I wore my favorite studded shoes and added matching silver eyeshadow. I definitely stood out (I love looking like a space cadet). Next time I'm going to wear bright yellow eyeshadow to match the crazy zipper! I love it.

I hope your week is going splendidly. Mine's been super busy yet exciting!

(There are houses on those two tiny islands.)

I was so lucky to spend this past weekend in Thousand Island Park in the house my uncle built. My cousin now owns it and she was so nice to let my family and I stay there. This little community holds so many amazing childhood memories for me.
When we arrived I had found nothing had changed. Not even the house. Everything came back to me: the river, the houses on the tiny islands, the swimming hole, and the beautiful victorian cottages.

On Saturday we took an amazing boat tour and went to Boldt Castle. It's a beautiful place, but also a little sad. George Boldt built the castle for his wife, but she died before it was finished. He abandoned the place and it sat empty for decades. Now it's restored and some of the bedrooms and all of the downstairs have been completed.

It was a wonderful and relaxing weekend (despite having to ride in a tow truck home because our car broke down). I hope you had a wonderful weekend too!

Super exciting announcement!

Yay for my first super-awkward video! Now those of you who have never met me know that I have a super-weird lisp.

On a serious note I am very excited to be teaming up with SugarLips. Click here to go to their website. Look for my post wearing the dress next week. Any guesses on which one it could be?

I want to start making more videos so leave me some feedback. Hope you're having a fantastic week!

Rodarte for Target dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag and BCBGMaxAzria sandals.

Like I've said before, I'm a very lucky girl. My birthday present from Brian was to go pick out a fancy designer dud and wear it on a fancy date. So, I ended up picking these strappy little babies. I'm in love with them. They're made out of super-soft leather and are actually quite comfortable. When it came time for our date, I was super-excited to wear them. We didn't get to go out until this weekend because we've both been so busy.

I got dolled all the way up for once. Which to me, includes doing something with my hair. I got inspired to add a little curl after watching The Moth Diaries. The main character (best photo I could find) had great loose curls. I normally just wash and go, but I liked trying something new.

Since it's getting dark so early we unfortunately had to snap these inside. It makes me sad to see the sun go down at 7:30!

Well, I hope everyone had a great start to their week.

Zac Posen for Target dress, Metaphor heels, thrifted bag, and my grandmother's necklace.

Note: do not wear a dress like this if you don't want to attract attention. In the few minutes I was standing outside, I received plenty of gawks and odd looks. I was even blown a kiss by a high school boy and his crew. That's significantly better than a 12 year old calling you a "hot momma". That happened a few weeks ago. Did I mention he was on a scooter? I thought Razor scooters died out with my generation. Apparently, they're still going strong.

Anyway, I do love this dress. It was part of Zac Posen's amazing collection for Target, which I own about half of (the snap dress has still evaded me!). I actually did an outfit post two years ago wearing the exact same thing. My blog and I have grown a lot since then. I thought it was time to pay tribute to the dress again. It's super flattering and crazy, but not too crazy (just like me). Back then I scored this dress for $20. I bought a lot of the pieces super discounted. Target's clearance is magical.

Well, happy Friday! I hope everyone has an amazing weekend.
