Charlotte Russe romper, Gap bag, thrifted Nine West sandals, sunglasses from eBay, and Nyx Round lipstick in Chloe.

Breezy rompers are absolutely perfect for hot summer days. I kept the styling pretty simple (except for my new lipstick I'm obsessed with), that's pretty standard for outfits when it's hot out. I know I don't like to be layered up when the heat makes me swell up. How do you style your summer duds?
I got these sunglasses from eBay for 4 dollars. Obviously, they're heavily inspired by Alexander Wang. I really don't like wearing knockoff's but I do wear things that are inspired by a designer's work. For example, my Sam Edelman Zoe boots. They're modeled after a pair from Balenciaga. One day when I'm rich I'll buy all the fancy designer duds, stay tuned until then (haha)!

PS- I got my hair re-done and I love it!

Well, head out because I am going away for the weekend. I hope you all have a fabulous one!

Thrifted vintage shorts, Target tee, gifted chiffon scarf, Vintage sunglasses, and Miss Trish for Target lizard sandals.

Sometimes, you just have to dress for comfort. For instance, on a day when your body calls in sick but you have things to do. That's what today was for me.
I felt like a soft white tee and jean shorts would perfect, not to mention a summer staple. I added this pretty floral scarf to add something extra to the outfit. It was a sweet gift from my boyfriend's mom (she also gave me a really cool romper I'll have to show you).

While I'm recuperating, I hope the rest of you are having a great start to the week.

Thrifted 90's dress, vintage necklace, Kathy Van Zeeland bag, Rue 21 sunglasses, and Nine West sandals.

It was a stifling 90 degree day yesterday. What else to wear but a breezy sundress? I was really excited to wear this particular one because I bought it last fall and put it away. It was not what I was looking for at the time but at 2 dollars, I couldn't resist.
Everything about it screams 1990's to me. The best parts too. Grunge, bad (yet good) boy bands, and ugly floral prints. Somehow, this floral print managed to not be so ugly.
I added this delicate vintage necklace that was my grandma's, my favorite strappy sandals, and I was ready to go!

I hope you all have a wonderful, sun filled weekend!

the burning sun

Too Fast nautical swimsuit bought on eBay.

I was (and still am) hesitant to post photos of myself in a bathing suit, but I just had to share this one with you. I had been combing the internet trying to find a great retro two piece in my price range. That was a much harder task than I had imagined. All the ones that were perfect were very expensive. That was until this little beauty got listed on eBay. Brand spanking new, with the tags for 30 bucks! I hadn't worn it until today, I was a little self-conscious.
There is nothing better to wear on a 90 degree day though! Especially when you can kick back by the pool.

I hope you're having a lovely week. I can't believe it's half over already. Oh, and happy first day of Summer!

everyday makeup

I wanted to share my everyday makeup look with you all because this is what I normally wear (when I'm not wearing sunglasses) on the blog.
I even took a before photo of me with no makeup on, but after I uploaded it I decided against it. It's truly frightening and you can inference how I would look (bags under the eyes, an abundance of freckles and uneven skin, and lots of blemishes).

I start off by using liquid foundation sparingly under my eyes, on my nose and over my blemishes. Then, I set it with a powder. I find it keeps my foundation intact for the day.

I like to keep my eyes neutral to keep it simple so I can experiment with my lips (today I just wore lip balm). I do love wearing crazy eye shadow, but I don't on a day to day basis.
I prime my eyes for the shadow with those cheap foundation sticks you can buy for a dollar. It works so well and much better than any other $20 primer I've tried!
For eyeshadow 90% of the time I use my wonderful eye quad that consists of this sandy and bronze color that I wore today (it also has two bright oranges). It's really pigmented; I love that.

I love eyeliner, and love wearing gratuitous amounts of it. If you're ever looking for a great eyeliner Styli-Style is hands down the best. I have tried so many so many different kinds, and this is the only one that's still there at the end of the day.

Then I just add lots of mascara some matte bronzer or blush and I'm pretty much finished (except for whatever obscenely bright lipstick I choose that day).

A side note about my eyebrows: they're thick and I like them that way. Too many people have told me throughout my life to pluck them more, on the top, or get a wax. NO! I WILL NOT!

Products used:
  • Mary Kay luminous wear liquid foundation in ivory 4.
  • Covergirl True Match compact powder in classic ivory.
  • Wet n' Wild coverall stick (as an eyeshadow primer).
  • L'oreal Infinite eye shadow quad. I don't know the color names, sorry!
  • Styli-Style Line & Seal semi permanent eye liner in black.
  • Mary Kay Ultimate mascara in black.
  • Physicians Formula matte bronzer.
  • Burt's Bees lip balm in honey.

I hope you're all having a great start to your week!

Thrifted Saks silk blazer, thrifted Victoria's Secret slip dress, Kathy Van Zeeland bag, and Restricted Footwear wedges.

This blazer has sat in my closet practically untouched since I bought it two years ago. It was a great find at only 5 bucks. It was also a very rare find because there are never nice things like this laying around here. It's a really unique color and is super soft. It also came with horrendous shoulder pads that I removed.
I paired it with a simple slip dress because my obsession with them seems never-ending. I love how they look under things. Almost as if I woke up in my night gown and just threw a jacket over it. It kind of comes off as low maintenance (or sloppy), depending on how you look at it.
Also, I was trying out some cotton candy pink lipstick I picked up last weekend. I'm really liking it so far, it seems to go with everything!

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

favorite face and body products

(Disclaimer, I wasn't paid by any of these companies to write such nice words about their products!)

I have very temperamental skin, it's very dry and flaky. I have tried so many different products, and I've finally found ones that I can't live without. Some are to relieve my gross skin and some are just my favorite smelly products.
(Bottom photo: Left to right)

Udderly Smooth Udder Cream: I happened to be perusing Dollar Tree when I found this cow tube. I thought it was so amusing I bought it for fun. Turns out it's the best beauty purchase I have ever made. EVER MADE. I've never used something that magically repairs disgusting feet. Even if I don't apply it everyday it keeps working. It's seriously a miracle in a tube.

Mary Kay intense moisturizing cream: For my winter skin. Need I say more?

Mary Kay age fighting moisturizer (I use normal to dry): I've tried a handful of other expensive moisturizers, but none work like this. It doesn't leave a greasy residue and keeps me hydrated all day.

Vera Wang Princess satiny body lotion: This was a surprise gift from my sweet boyfriend. He knows I love the Princess line. The lotion is fabulous.

Mary Kay 3-in-1 cleanser (again, I use normal to dry): Creamy and exfoliating, perfect for washing my face in the morning.

Clean & Clear makeup dissolving foaming cleanser: The BEST make up remover for the end of the day. It takes waterproof mascara off in one swipe. The oil free formula leaves my face feeling fresh. I love that it's an overall cleanser as well as a makeup remover too. Plus, the foam is fun to play with.

Hands down, these are my favorite face and body products. If you try them out I hope you love them as much as I do! It's great when you find a beauty product you love. There's nothing more disappointing than buying a product and it being awful.

Happy Wednesday!

Thrifted vintage Levi's, Target tee, gifted Mexican hat, Miss Trish for Target lizard sandals, and Kohl's elephant necklace (The lizards and elephant are my "creatures").

Sitting by the pool all day and casually taking a dip sounds like the best way to spend a 90 degree day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow that to happen. I had to run a bunch of errands today and keeping an outfit simple is sometimes the best way to beat the heat.
I know you've seen a lot of shorts on my blog lately; I'm sorry they are a warm weather staple. They're no fuss dressing and with the wind we've been having I don't have to worry about a skirt flying over my head.
Today was also a great day to take my new hat for a spin. My boyfriend's mom brought it back from Mexico. She always brings us back the best stuff, she's so sweet!
It's perfect for summer and was suppose to be for my boyfriend, but it's too small for his head (he would argue that it's because his brain is HUGE, haha).

Well, for some reason I'm exhausted and I'm not in a very good mood. I'll go recuperate; hope you're having a great start to the week!
