blast from the past

Thrifted 60's forest green cardigan, Forever 21 tee and anchor necklace, thrifted 90's Levi's, and thrifted Bass loafers.

Took some crappy self timer shots at work today while it was slow. I threw on this outfit in 5 minutes and didn't realize I looked like I walked straight out the 90's. Big cardigan, high waist Levi's and loafers. Okay, maybe I looked more like a boy from the 90's...
Speaking of boys and loafers, boys HATE them (unless they're my dad but he loves loafers in general and is not really a boy). My boyfriend makes fun of me mercilessly when I wear them and hopes one day I'll wake up and realize how ugly they are. (I realize this fully, I can just see the charm in ugly garments).
Overall, a comfortable outfit for a pretty dreary day. Which was super depressing. Going from 75 degrees back to 40 is almost unbearable. The only bright side of this situation is I can still wear all my sweaters and heavy coats. I was not really ready to put them all away anyway.

Hope you're having a lovely week!

Missoni for Target dress, thrifted blouse, Chanel flats, and Marc by Marc Jacobs bag.

When I got an offer by my hospitable parents to stay with them in New Jersey for the weekend, I gladly accepted. My boy and I were really happy because our hotel was located 30 minutes outside New York. We took the train into the city, which was fun. I got dressed in one of my favorite outfits clad with my new Marc Jacobs bag, and we hit the town!
It was a great trip. We ate two scrumptious meals, walked around Soho, went vintage shopping in the Village (can't wait to show you what I got!), watched street performers, and took pictures of the Empire State Building. We indulged in being utter tourists. Hey, it's okay, sometimes that's a necessity. I can't wait to go back, or move there. Which ever comes first, I'll gladly accept.

H&M skirt, vintage 40's silk blouse, thrifted bag, Luella sunglasses, and Nine West sandals.

There's nothing like a piping hot orange skirt to bring some color to your world. I got this skirt back in February when H&M was having a buy one, get one free sale. It was $7 or something like that. I love the black waistband, but to keep it from looking too Halloweenish, I paired the rest of the outfit down with neutrals.
The camera really didn't capture orange color like I'd hoped. My darn camera, it's so finicky. It could make the most sane person lose their mind. Mine's already been lost, so there's not much for me to lose.

Yesterday was my anniversary with my beautiful boy. We celebrated four years together and he got me a nice Marc Jacobs clutch/crossbody purse. It's so gorgeous, I can't wait to share it with you! He's so sweet, he took me on a picnic and a romantic dinner. I feel incredibly lucky.

Some snapshots of my life recently:

  1. A beautiful stone staircase I encountered during my walk in the park.
  2. A great pair of Bass loafers at found at Salvation Army for 3 bucks. (My boyfriend HATES them).
  3. My reflection. Of course I'm wearing my favorite creature comforts for a laid back dinner. (Vintage Nirvana tee, and my best grandpa sweater.).
  4. The path my boy and I took during our rendezvous in the park.
  5. The GORGEOUS 1960's Pucci skirt I sold this week. Saying a bittersweet goodbye to the perfect piece.
We're having perfect weather here in Rochester NY, I hope you are too! I'm heading out to enjoy the 70 degree temperatures.

H&M dress, Metaphor pumps, and vintage pocketbook (on SALE here.)

I saw this dress at H&M a few months ago and totally fell in love. Since the temperatures will still frigid, I put it out of my mind. When I went back about two weeks ago, I saw they still had it and splurged.
It's the exact dress I was looking for. I couldn't find any in my price range vintage or new on eBay. I figured none of the stores I shopped at would have one. Perfect vintage silhouette, nipped waist, circle skirt, and high neckline. Just like all of the 50's dresses I love. Of course I'll still look for the perfect vintage one to satisfy my craving, but this one is pretty darn perfect.
Not to mention red, white, and blue are my favorite color combinations for outfits. It's just too good!
I kept with the vintage theme by doing my hair semi 40's style, and wearing my most ladylike pumps.

Have a great weekend! We're supposed to have temperatures in the high 70's. Enjoy it!

Target tee, Forever 21 wide leg pants, vintage necklace, thrifted vintage bag, and Aldo Segura pumps.

I FINALLY wore these gorgeous pants after they have been sitting my closet (tags still attached) for two years. I don't normally put a piece away in the back abyss of my closet, but it happened. I don't know if I didn't feel brave enough to pull them off, or I thought they were too long. Let me tell you, I'm a convert. I love them, they are not too long and are so comfortable. They are perfect for the freak warm weather (plus that rough wind) we've been having.
I kept the rest of the outfit simple because I wanted to showcase the pants. You have no idea the crisis I went through when I originally paired it with a button up. A simple white tee goes with everything, crisis averted.

I normally try to take photos while I'm already out doing something, but my mom and I spotted this beautiful little church. We made a special time to have a mini session there. It's right in the middle of the town where I run my shop, but you would never know it. It's tucked back behind everything in it's own world. There was also a rusting hearse in the parking lot. I said we should take some photos with it (I kid). Next time, next time.

Missoni for Target cardigan, BCBG dress, years old belt, thrifted bag, Forever 21 sunglasses, and Chanel flats.

I love the southwestern vibe the colors on my Missoni for Target cardigan give off. It's perfect for windswept Spring days. I just can't deny my ever growing love for the Missoni for Target collection. I'm still trying to find all the missing pieces I crave on eBay. Were you blown away? Tell me your favorite piece!
Anyway, with the sudden surge of temperatures in the 60's, I knew I had to spring for bare legs. Like I said a few posts ago, I die in pants. I had actually been wearing pants earlier in the day and had to change.
I've had this dress for so long, but I keep coming back to it. It's one of those timeless pieces that can transcend into any season. (See me wearing it last Summer HERE). So are my prized Chanel flats, I have been wearing them non-stop lately!

PS I'm in love with my new bag, it's one of the lucky finds I got for 40 cents!
